Conocí a Helnwein a través de un libro del pintor H.R.Giger donde se muestra un dibujo propiedad del pimtor suizo. Es un dibujo excelente llamado La tentación. Luego lo busque en internet y quedé realmente sorprendido. Simpre ando buscando la posibilidad de ver parte de su obra en vivo, por lo que espero que alguna vez la traigan a España.
Suelo mostrar distintas fotos de su obra a personas del ambiente artistico, y los que no lo conocen inmediatamente comienzan a buscar su obra. Cuando me preguntan (antes de verlo) qué estilo tiene o de que trata su obra, me resulta dificil dar una idea precisa, creo que cualquier cosa que diga resulta inverosimil y ciertamente distante con su obra.
A mi me acojona bastante y, como dibujante, espero llegar a tener algun día la calidad de H.

ich schaue in meinen pausen gerne hier vorbei. die art wie helnwein jedes foto wie eine schlechte illustration aussehen lässt ist für mich total beeindruckend. ein ziel das ich wohl nie erreichen werde (die qualität, nicht die aufmerksamkeit) . . . aber ich gebe nicht auf.

Guten Tag Herr Helnwein,
ich kannte ihre Werke bevor ich sie kannte.
Ihre Fotografien von Marylin Manson und Rammstein waren mir bekannt und ich bewunderte diese Bilder. Ich mache eine Ausbildung zum Grafiker und in meiner Klasse wurde ein Referat über sie gehalten - ich war beindruckt von ihrem Lebensstil ihren Werken und Projekten. Nach diesem Referat fand ich diese Homepage und war mehr und mehr von ihnen begeistert.
In ihre Bilder kann man so viel sehen, interpretieren und hineindenken, dass es fast wie eine eigene Welt zu sein scheint. Sie setzen ihre Objekte/Personen so in Szene, dass man nur wage erahnen kann was geschehen ist, zudem kommt noch die eigene Darstellungsweise von Leid, einem Weltbild oder einer Meinung. Dazu kommt noch ihre Umsetztung mit Licht, Schatten und Elementen wie ich sie noch nie bewudern konnte. Mit meinen 19 Jahren gehöre ich nicht unbedingt in die Reihe ihrer bewunderer aber wenn man ihre Bilder versteht dann kann das den Horizont erweitern und andere Ansichten hervor rufen

I am 15 and I go to an arts highschool. I love painting with acrylics, and lately I've been in the mood to paint but so far everything I've done has turned out disgusting. So much I hate to even look at it. I'm about to start a new one, in which the drawing is very detailed, but I'm afraid it will turn out bad and I'll just waste a bunch of canvases and my paints. I know I just need practice but I was curious how you make your paintings (like: "Untitled (Modern Sleep) 2005")so realistic. Creating lifelike skin tones, perfect eyes, and creating the right shadow; everything just flows.
Your amazing at what you do, and hope to see one of your galleries eventually.
