Oui, effectivement, il s'est souvent servi du "hors normes" pour travailler. Je n'ai pas été étonné d'apprendre que le travail de Weegee (tu sais, le photographe américain des faits divers, ds les années 40) l'a inspiré, à la base. Pour ce qui est de Gottfried Helwein, c'est un artiste très prolifique, mais que je connais mal.

The Gottfried Helnwein exhibition in the second floor gallery is extraordinary in it’s utter insistence on a severely restricted palette. This exhibition is blue blue blue.
Helnwein has been primarily using a Prussian blue with tints and shades for a couple of decades while showing them at San Francisco’s Modernism Gallery on Market Street. His show called "The Child" takes a look at the uber little girl painted in a somber mood in a curious setting with inferences of a psycho-sexual nature. He’s from that post World War II German-Austrian angst ridden era that is conveyed with sledgehammer suggestions of death and violence. These paintings are photo derived yet gorgeous and so well done you’ll think that you’re witnessing a near miracle. ...

Those who have used the same or multiple forms of the image many times over many years include Lichtenstein, Helnwein, Oldenburg, Pensato, Ospina, and Chagoya. Some have used the image more persistently than others have.
Most of the images are straightforward, but some are not. For example, Christian Boltanski installed photographs of children, who were members (fans) of the 1955 French Mickey Mouse Club (ills. 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3). Rhonda Zwillinger (ill. 76.1) incorporated the castle at Disneyland into one of her paintings. I was doing some searching and I found Rammstein's favorite artist's official site! If you go through the site good enough you can find the sketch from the stripped single cover and the sehnsucht photos. But most of all for all of the Rammstein fans that thought that wasn't Rammstein in the "taped" faces photographs! It is! you can find those tape pics on his site to! Give it a good look! what an artist!

Sie verbanden, unter der Leitung von GMD John Fiore, die wunderbare Musik Robert Schumanns mit einer von Gregor Seyffert und Gottfried Helnwein großartigen szenischen Umsetzung des Textes von Thomas Moore. In fünf Aufführungen fanden sich mehr als 6.000 begeisterte Zuhörer und Zuschauer in der Tonhalle ein. Den Beifall des Publikums konnte man an jedem Abend „frenetisch“ nennen.
